Microsoft to Soon Release New Payment Apps for Windows 10

Microsoft is soon to relaunch Windows Wallet for a mobile payments app like Apple Wallet, which will stores your credit cards, debit cards, loyalty cards, gift cards, membership and coupons information. The Wallet app will be improved for both the in-store payment experience and online payments with Windows devices.

Microsoft Corporate VP of Windows Joe Belfiore says The Verge that “Windows is going to have a wallet concept. You’ve seen it on phones before. We’re going to continue to iterate it”, [Windows Hello] is the kind of technology we’ll build into devices for authentication to make payments better. but he did not say any specific dates when it might be released and whether it would utilize NFC or other payment technology. But users can expect NFC technology for Windows Phone payment app like we have seen in the Wallet for Windows Phone 8.

The upcoming mobile payments will be integrated with Windows Hello for biometric authentication, which will include a new security features to the whole experience.

Windows Hello is a biometric authentication system which provides access to Windows 10. Your Windows 10 device can immediately recognizes you through touch or by your face. Microsoft says Windows Hello is more convenient than typing a password and also more secure.

Other big companies like Google, Apple and Samsung have already launched their mobile payments apps and Microsoft is now to join mobile payment system club very soon.

Windows 10 PC version is already on the market but Windows 10 Mobile version is just around the corner and we might have to wait until Microsoft actually completes development of this new feature.
