Google Chrome New Update 49 Features Smoother Scrolling to Desktop

On Wednesday, Google started to rolling out the stable version of Chrome 49 for Windows, OS X and Linux. The new updated version includes several bug fixes along with number of developer APIs and new user-facing features.

One of the key new features of the Chrome 49 is it now enabled Smooth scrolling by default and users should expect a smoother experience when scrolling with a mouse wheel. Chrome 49 has 26 security fixes contributed by external researches and internal teams fixed vulnerabilities in the V8 engine.

The latest Chrome V8 engine in this update has 91% support for a major update to JavaScript that will allow developers to write code that is more powerful and memory efficient. In Chrome 49 a new MediaRecorder API also allows sites to record audio and video without the using of plugin like Flash. The Background Sync API will enable sites schedule a sync when an Internet connection is detected the next time or even when the page is closed by the user.

With Chrome 49 version, websites can now send a lighter version of the web page by detecting if the user has turned on the data saving feature or not.

As of now Chrome 49 has rolled out for desktop, the mobile version is believed to be launched within next few days.
