WhatsApp, acquired by Facebook has been getting new updates its app with new features. After company added voice calling feature, there were reports that the company would soon add call back and voicemail feature too.
WhatsApp is currently testing both feature to only with beta users and its unclear when the messaging service provider plans to bring the option to more stable builds of WhatsApp. WhatsApp earlier introduced a beta build with video calling option before pulling it down.
WhatsApp for Android beta has received new features within a week. This time the beta users get call back and voicemail features with WhatsApp v2.16.189 version. The two features had been first appeared in April this year in translation requests. Like with other beta features for WhatsApp. Now WhatsApp is rolling out the feature to its Android Beta program users.
To avail this service, you will have to apply to the Google Play beta testing program for WhatsApp and download the latest build, or you can also download the signed apk from APK Mirror. Both features are extensions of the voice calling feature in WhatsApp. Once WhatsApp for Android beta is installed on your phone, try calling one of your existing contacts. Note that the recipient does not need to have the latest version of the app installed.
If you call a WhatsApp contact from the app, if the call is canceled or not picked up, your app screen will show a “call declined” message along with three options – Cancel, Call Back, and Voicemail.
The cancel option will closes the screen while the call back option allows you to call him or her back. With record voice message option, you can send a recorded voice message like voicemail to person. The recorded voice message option works exactly like audio message which is already available from the chat interface.
WhatsApp earlier this week got a new font option features. You can access the new font by typing the grave accent symbol “` three times before and after a message.
WhatsApp is rumored to testing improved music sharing features with native support for Apple Music and even added support for replying to a particular message.
