Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has revealed on his Weibo page that a new Xiaomi Note device will be announced on June 29th. He also shared a screenshot of the home screen of new device believed to the new Redmi Note 2.
The screenshot has been compressed but rumours says it came from a 5.5-inch smartphone with 1920 x 1080 display. Lei Jun did not give much detail about the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.
Redmi Note 2 is said to pack MediaTek’s recently launched Helio X10 (MT6795) chipset, however earlier report claimed that the Redmi Note 2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 410 (MSM8919) processor.
Other rumoured Specifications of the Redmi Note 2 includes a 5.5-inch full-HD display, Android 5.0 or 5.1 with MIUI on top, a 13 MP camera with a 5 MP front camera and battery larger than 3000mAh. The smartphone is said to featuring 4G TD-LTE network connectivity.
Lei also revealed that Xiaomi has shipped over 10 million units of the first generation Mi Note, Mi 4 and 20 million units of the Redmi Note, 13 million units of the Redmi 2 and 2A combined.
