Samsung yesterday announced the Galaxy Tab S2 which is the successor to last year’s Galaxy Tab S tablets.
Samsung launched Galaxy Tab S2 in Two variant, One in 8-inch and second 9.7-inch form factors at 5.6mm, weighing 265 grams and 389 grams, respectively. Samsung claims Tab S2 is company’s thinnest and lightest tablet of its size. Both models are available in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + LTE variants.
The Galaxy Tab S2 also offers quick, easy access to a wealth of superior viewing and productivity features,” said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics.
Samsung claiming it has calibrated to the Adobe RGB colour standard and loaded them with an advanced Adaptive Display technology on Galaxy Tab S2’s displays. The Adobe RGB colour standard is a set of rules designed to ensure colours on displays are realistic.
Both models featured with Super AMOLED displays with 2048 x 1536 resolution, runs on the latest Android 5.0 lollipop out-of-box, Octa-core (Quad 1.9GHz + Quad 1.3GHz) processor with 3GB RAM, 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front-facing camera.
Galaxy Tab S2 9.7-inch packed with 5,870mAh battery while Galaxy Tab S2 8.0-inch with 4,000mAh battery.
The Galaxy Tab S2 both come in 32 GB and 64 GB memory option with microSD card slot that will let you expand the storage up to 128GB. Both tablets have fingerprint scanner and can be run two apps simultaneously on the screen.
Both allows storing up to 100GB of files on the cloud via OneDrive for two years for free also compatible with the advanced Book Cover Keyboard that delivers the same convenience of a standard PC keyboard with a built-in trackpad.
Galaxy Tab S2 9.7-inch measures 169 x 237.3 x 5.6mm and weights 389g and Galaxy Tab S2 8.0-inch measures 134.8 x 198.6 x 5.6mm and weights 265g.
Both devices are expected to be available in stores in August. The pricing is not unveiled yet.
