Philips Sapphire S616 and Life V787 smartphone with Anti-Blue Display that Reduce Eye-Strain launched

Philips is not a big name in smartphone market has now launched two new mid-range smartphones features an “anti-blue” display. Philips in China announced the Sapphire S616 and the Sapphire Life V787 smartphone which company says that it has utilized a new technology called “SoftBlue” in both the smartphones that reduces the blue light coming from a screen by up to 86% which helps to reduce eye strain.

Philips Sapphire S616 features with 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display, its power from a 1.3GHz MT6753 chipset that has an octa-core processor coupled with a Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM, The 16GB internal storage can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. An 13MP rear shooter with an f/2.0 aperture while the 5MP front-facing wide-angled camera. The is embedded with 3,000mAh removable battery and supports 4G LTE network.

Philips Sapphire Life V787 comes with same 5.5-inch Full HD display and features almost same specifications as the Philips Sapphire S616 except 5,000mAh battery that can give up to 47 hours of talk time by using the company’s patented Xenium technology. It also comes with the same 13MP rear camera includes Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) technology that can focus in just 0.2 second.

Both the smartphones runs on Android 5.1 out of the box with Philips’ UI on top of it. Philips Sapphire S616 will go on sale in China in November at an equivalent price of $222. There is no price mentioned for the Sapphire Life V787 but it will be available by the end of November.

Philips Sapphire S616 and Life V787 are currently launched in China but there is a no words on availability of other countries.
