Oppo has officially introduced the R9 and R9 Plus in Beijing. The Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 Plus have been priced at CNY 2,799 (approx Rs. 29,000) and CNY 3,299 (approx Rs. 34,000) respectively. The Oppo R9 will go on sale on 24th, March in China while the Oppo R9 Plus is expected to be available from April 12. But, There is no word on availability outside China as of now.
The difference between the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus is in screen size. The R9 features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) AMOLED display while the R9 Plus features a 6-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) AMOLED display.
The key feature of the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus smartphones is that they offers 16-megapixel front cameras with 78.1-degree wide-angle lens and an f/2.0 aperture. The Oppo R9 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, with an f/2.2 aperture. The R9 Plus packs Sony’s IMX298 CMOS sensor in its 16-megapixel rear camera with an f/2/0 aperture. Both the smartphones support features such as PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and 4K video recording.
The Oppo R9 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor while the Oppo R9 Plus packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (MSM8976) processor. Both the smartphones feature 4GB of RAM and runs on ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Both smartphones sport the same design with a fingerprint scanner below the display which the company says will unlock device in just 0.2 seconds and work even when the surface is wet. Connectivity options on both the phones include 4G with VoLTE support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB.
The Oppo R9 will be available in just 64GB storage version while the Oppo R9 Plus will come in both 64GB and 128GB models. Both come with hybrid SIM slot which means they also support expandable storage via microSD card up to 128GB. The R9 and R9 Plus smartphones are powered by a 2,850mAh and 4,120mAh batteries respectively.

Both devices support VOOC flash charge that is claimed to offer up to 2 hours of talk time in just 5 minutes for charging.
