Motorola announced that Moto X, Moto E and G LTE will not receive the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop, but will be updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Motorola engineer, David Schuster posted on Google+ that the main reason for the delay of OTA Android 5.0.2 Lollipop were testing procedures that involved upgrading over the past few weeks, and that therefore are demanding of time before we can make public the update. Also, Schuster said that on the same device was also tested Lollipop Android 5.1 Lollipop, and therefore the company has decided to skip Android 5.0 Lollipop, updating these devices directly to Android 5.1 Lollipop. There is no info when the software update will roll out for the devises, it will likely to be took few more weeks.
Although this may seem like good news to Moto users but Motorola has not yet issued any statement regarding the timing of this update, then the negative side of the story could involve more time that will force users to wait a bit ‘before to update devices.
