Meizu has launched company’s new flagship smartphone today named the Pro 5 at an event held in Beijing, China. The smartphone is part of the new Pro series of handsets.
Meizu PRO 5 features a high end specifications and will be available in two variants. One with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM with 64GB of storage.
Meizu PRO 5 has a stunning all-metal design using a magnesium alloy, comes with a physical home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The bottom edge of Meizu PRO 5 spots a USB Type-C connector which supports fast charging. Meizu claims Meizu PRO 5 is capable from 0-65 percent with just 30 mins. Meizu Pro 5 is integrated with a 3050mAh battery and uses 24W fast charge technology called mCharge 2.0.
The Meizu Pro 5 features a Samsung Exynos 7420 chipset, 5.7″ 1080p Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass for extra smooth touch. 21MP main camera with Sony IMX230 sensor which can record 4K video and 5MP front camera. Meizu PRO 5 supports 4G LTE speeds of up to 300Mbps and VoLTE support.
Meizu PRO 5 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based on Flyme 5. Meizu also promises Hi-Fi sound experience with the new ES9018 signal processor and OPA1612 headphone amplifier.
The Meizu Pro 5 will go on sale October 12. The 3GB of RAM version is priced CNY 2,799 (approximately $ 439 USD) and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM with 64GB of storage priced at CNY 3,099 (approximately $485 USD) and will be available in Grey, Silver, Silver Black, and Golden colours.
