Shilpa Shetty a Bollywood actress and her businessman husband Raj Kundra launched Viaan Mobiles in India on Wednesday, named for their three year old son. The devices were launched at a ceremony held in Mumbai with celebrity guests Jeetendra, Malaika Arora Khan, Farah Khan and Manish Paul in attendance.
Viaan Mobiles has launched five smartphones, The V-Emerge, V-Empower, V-Eternal, V-Encore and V-1.8, will be priced between Rs. 849 to Rs. 12,999. While the former four are smartphones, the last one V-1.8 is a feature phone.
“For us in India, the choice was mass or class and we decided with Viaan to bring the class to the mass.” told Raj Kundra to media. He also said “I get to launch not only a mobile phone in this booming mobile phone market but it’s also in my son’s name. I’ve been part of this since inception and we’ve made sure that in this cluttered phone market, what could we do different than what’s been there and done already and we are the first Indian phone brand to launch simultaneously in seven countries.”
Viaan V-1.8 is a dual-sim phone has a 2.31-inch RGB TFT QVGA (320x240p) display. It is a 2G phone comes with a keypad and measures 114mmx56.5mmx11.25mm and weighs 68gm. V-1.8 runs on ThreadX OS and powered by li-on 8,00mAh battery. The phone comes with 0.3MP camera and is available in white and black color variants and is priced at Rs 9,99.
Viaan Emerge is running on Android KitKat 4.4.2 based dual-sim smartphone with 3.97-inch RGB WVGA TN (800x480p) display. The smartphone has 512MB of RAM and offers 4GB of internal storage and can be expanded by microSD cards of up to 32GB. It packs a li-on 1,400mAh battery and sports 2MP rear camera and 0.3MP front-facing camera. The smartphone supports 2G as well as 3G network and it is priced at Rs 3,999.
The Viaan Empower is a Android Lollipop 5.1-based on dual sim smartphone featuring a 4.5 inch RGB TFT FWVGA (854x480p) display. It is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM and offers 8GB of internal storage and can hold microSD cards of up to 32GB. It packs a li-on 1,800mAh battery and sports a 5MP rear camera and 0.3MP front-facing camera. The smartphone supports both 2G and 3G network and is priced at Rs 5,299.
The Viaan Encore is also a dual-sim smartphone sports a 5.0-inch RGB TFT FWVGA (854x480p) display and runs on both 2G and 3G network. It packs a li-on 2,200 mAh battery and sports a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front facing camera. Other specifications are same as that of Empower and it is priced at Rs 5,999.
Among of these smartphones most expensive one is V-Eternal smartphone priced at Rs 12,999. The smartphone features 5.5-inch display and offering 16GB of internal storage and can be expanded via microSD cards of up to 32GB. It packs a 2,150mAh battery and sports an 8MP back camera along with a 5MP selfie camera. The phone comes in two colour variants Gold and black.
The Viaan Mobiles is the V-Assist offered a 24×7 personalized concierge service which will provide users details on best deals on products and services. At present V-Assist offers services in the field of travel, entertainment, shopping, gifting and utilities. The services will provide offers for any additional transactions such as travel, movie and event bookings, cruises, shopping with Shilpa and Raj’s Best Deal TV and also other services such as delivering cakes, flowers, mobile recharges, bills, etc. The services are currently available through a phone call in two languages English and Hindi.
The phones are launched at different price ranges to suit the needs of multiple consumers and each includes a one-year free subscription to V-Assist.
