Oppo has launched a new mid range smartphone in Neo series called Oppo Neo 7 in Indian market for priced at Rs. 9,990 (Approx $150 USD).
Oppo has undertaken trial runs for manufacturing mobile phones at Foxconn’s facility in Sri City Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Andhra Pradesh. Oppo Mobiles India vice general manager Kai Feng and senior company officials were in the city to launch the Neo 7.
The Oppo Neo 7 sports a 5-inch TFT 960×540 resolution display and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company’s custom ColorOS 2.1 skin on top. It is featured by 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and comes with 16GB internal storage with microSD card support.
Oppo Neo 7 smartphone packs a non-removable 2,420mAh battery and equipped with an 8MP rear camera with flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. In terms of connectivity, Oppo Neo 7 includes 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS.
Kai Feng said “We have started production in Foxconn manufacturing unit at Sri City SEZ. Right now, trial runs are going on. We are manufacturing Joy Plus mobile phone, Foxconn has set up an assembly line to manufacture smartphones in its facility.”
Feng added that “We have plans to set up our own factory. We are still discussing it. We have not yet decided.”
Feng also said “We have sold 4 lakh mobile phones till date. We expect to sell 1.5 million before March 2016.”
