Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella at the company’s Future Unleashed event in Mumbai on today announced that Microsoft will launch its latest flagship smartphone the Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950 in India in December this year.
Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL were launched last month. Lumia 950 and the 950 XL are expected to be priced at Rs 37,999 and at Rs 42,999 respectively in India.
The Lumia 950 features with a 5.2 inch display with Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by the 1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and offers a 20 MP camera at back which is capable to record videos in Ultra HD 4K resolution. The Lumia 950 comes with USB Type C port for faster charging and has a 3000 mAh battery.
The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL has a 5.7 inch AMOLED display that comes with Quad HD resolution as well as the same 20 MP back camera with triple LED flash light and ZEISS optics. It has a higher 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 810 octa core processor and 3,340 mAh battery as well compared to Lumia 950. It also featured with with USB Type C charging port. Microsoft says the phone can be charged to 50 per cent in just 30 minutes.
Both smartphones includes the same 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB internal memory with 200 GB micro SD card slot, An 5 MP front camera, dual band WiFi (ac), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS and Beidou, NFC and FM radio.
Both are the first Microsoft handsets to run on Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile OS.
