Microsoft on Tuesday launched two new handsets with 4G-compatible devices in India. Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL smartphones are now official in India with affordable price tags of Rs 11999 and Rs 15799 respectively. Microsoft hasn’t unveiled LTE models.
The Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL handsets have a many thinks common as they both comes with 720p HD resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection display, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage with 128GB microSD expandability.
The Lumia 640 comes with a 5-inch IPS LCD screen and uses 1.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 system on chip (SoC). A removable 2,500 mAh battery powers the device. As for connectivity, the dual-sim device comes with 2G and 3G connection, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The main camera is 8MP with flash and comes with the Lumia camera app. Both model offers 30GB One Drive cloud storage, and pre-installed with Microsoft Office suite.
The Lumia 640XL gets a larger 5.7-inch IPS LCD display. It runs on a 1.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC. The 640XL also get a better 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 Carl Zeiss optics, and a 5MP front-facing wide-angle camera. The battery is also slightly powerful at 3,000 mAh. The 640XL is a dual sim smartphone and supports 2G, 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Both devices runs on Windows 8.1 phone OS with Lumia Denim update and will be upgradable to its recently launched, Windows 10 phone operating system.
