Microsoft today announced the Lumia 640 XL LTE smartphone in India. First it was unveiled at MWC 2015. Microsoft Lumia 640 XL is already available in the country but this LTE model will support the LTE bands available in India. Microsoft Lumia 640 XL LTE is a dual SIM smartphone (GSM+WCDMA).
The Microsoft Lumia 640 XL LTE Dual SIM is identical to the Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM except it features 4G LTE connectivity. The Lumia 640XL LTE will be upgradable to Windows 10 on mobile when it is available later this year. The masrtphone is bundled with an offer from Airtel where consumers will be able to double their data for free.
At launch event TS Sridhar director of Microsoft Mobile Devices said, “We understand the needs of the Indian consumers and with the Lumia range we have always focused on complementing the needs of the customers across segments by delivering new experiences and features. Lumia 640XL LTE is powerpacked offering great productivity at power of 4G”.
The Lumia 640 XL LTE Dual SIM comes with a 5.7-inch HD 720×1280 pixels resolution IPS LCD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM, sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with Zeiss optics and a 5-megapixel front camera, packs a 3000mAh battery said to deliver up to 30.3 hours of talk-time and 37 days of standby time on 2G and 23 hours 42 minutes on 3G networks and standby time of 936 hours.
The new Microsoft Lumia phone also packs 8GB of built-in storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). Free OneDrive storage is available up to 30GB,
Microsoft Lumia 640 XL LTE smartphone measures 157.9×81.5x9mm and weighs in at 171 grams.
Microsoft Lumia 640 XL LTE Dual SIM in now available in India at Rs. 17,399. However non-LTE Lumia 640 XL is now available for Rs. 13,200 from Amazon India.
