Huawei Launched Mate 8 With Kirin 950 Octa-Core SoC and Android Marshmallow

Huawei today announced the Mate 8 phablet at the Shanghai Expo Centre in China as teased earlier this month.

Huawei Launched Mate 8 is the successor to the last year’s Huawei Mate 7. Huawei Launched Mate 8 comes in three variants, One With 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB and 128GB storage.

The Mate 8 features a 6-inch Full HD display with covered in 2.5D Gorilla Glass and featuring a color range that tops 95% of the NTSC. It has a round fingerprint sensor which is said to be faster and more accurate than the Mate 7. The software features including voice control, a power-saving firewall, eRecovery that we assume is some type of system restore, and even a defragmenter.

Under the hood the it features on octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor with clubbed with Mali-T880MP4 GPU.

The Mate 8 runs on Android Marshmallow based on company’s new EMUI 4.0. The Huawei Mate 8 is a metal-clad dual-SIM Smartphone. Huawei Mate 8 supports Nano-SIM cards and the second SIM slot can also be used as the microSD card slot.

Huawei Mate 8 is available in Space Gray, Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver and Mocha Brown color options.

The Mate 8 includes a 16 MP rear camera featured by Sony IMX298 sensor with OIS, f/2.0 aperture, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and 1.12um pixel size alongside with an 8 MP front-facing camera with Sony IMX179 sensor and f/2.4 aperture.

It also offers an manufactured using TSMC’s 16 nm FinFET process “i5 coprocessor” that supports speech recognition, low-power consumption MP3, all the functions of a sensor hub, fused location provider (FLP) navigation and reduces location-based power consumption.

The The Mate 8 is powered by 4,000mAh battery and connectivity supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS, DLNA, Bluetooth, 4G and NFC.

The Huawei Mate 8 will be available in China from today. However the more details about its price and availability in other counties will be revealed at CES event in early January, 2016.

Mate 8 will be available in 3GB (32GB), 4GB (64GB) and 4GB (128GB) variants for price at around 2999 CNY (Approx $479 or 31,999 in India), 3699 CNY (Approx$579 or 38,999 in India) and 4399 CNY (Approx $689 or 45,999 in India) respectively.
