HTC on Tuesday launched a new flagship smartphone “One A9” which is the latest addition to the company’s One series and it looks almost identical to the Apple iPhone 6S.
HTC One A9 launched with two versions though customers in the United States will only have one option to buy of them and will be available across multiple carriers and retailers while the unlocked version will sell via HTC’s online store. US pre-orders for the HTC One A9 starts from Tuesday via the company’s online store.
HTC One A9 will be available in color options such as Opal Silver and Carbon Gray, but two other versions Deep Garnet and Topaz Gold will be released in the coming days.
The HTC One A9 contains an 5-inch AMOLED Display of 1080p resolution with 40% more colour than a normal LCD screen for brilliant graphics and gaming even in direct sunlight. It is the first device to run on the Snapdragon 617 chip Octa-core processor with 1.5GHz four Cortex-A53 cores and 1.2GHz four A53, Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM for 16GB variant or 3GB of RAM for 32GB variant also a microSD card slot for memory expansion.
HTC One A9 is powered by a 2,150 mAh battery, which supports Quick Charge 2.0 (and 3.0).
An 13MP sensor camera at back take blur-free photos with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and speed up your videos up to 12x for a dramatic effect with Hyperlapsewith optical image stabilization and 1080p video recording also supports RAW capturing. Where at the front camera has a 4MP UltraPixel sensor and a bright F/2.0 aperture.
From the company that crafted the world’s first all-metal design, HTC again sets a new design standard. The HTC One A9 features a super-thin metal frame with an elegant finish edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
In addition, the smartphone offers 6 months of unlimited music on Google Play Music and UH OH Protection, which includes one free replacement within the first 12 months of ownership for a cracked screen, water damage or carrier switch.
The One A9 is also features with impressive audio technology and according to HTC, the phone has a built in amp which can drive twice the output of the traditional smartphones and coupled with BoomSound technology and support for high resolution audio, it will provide one of the best audio experiences on the smartphone.
The HTC One A9 measures 7.2mm of thickness and the 143g of weight.
The One A9 has become the first phone to rolled out with Android Marshmallow out of the box after the new Nexus smartphones. HTC is also promising updates to new versions of Android within 15 days of Nexus smartphones getting them.
HTC One A9 is one of the first phones to let you use your fingerprint to authorize purchases with Android Pay. Only a virtual account number is used when you are shopping, so your actual credit card details aren’t shared or transmitted.
One A9 connectivity options include 2G, 3G and 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB. The company listing confirms that the HTC One A9 supports Indian LTE bands.
HTC has also showcased some accessories for the One A9 smartphone including the Dot View cases which will be available as the HTC Dot View II case and will come in Obsidian, Deep Garnet, Sea Coral and Turquoise Blue colours beginning next month.
HTC One A9 to go sale on the first week of November. However, HTC One A9 is now available for pre-order for a special limited-time promotional price of $400 outright via HTC online store.
