Today, Gionee has launched two new smartphones under its Marathon series in the form of the M6 and M6 Plus at an even in Beijing, China. The key feature of the smartphones is an inbuilt data encryption chip, which is protecting your communication and content data at hardware level. It also protect users from malware. Unfortunately the smartphones with data encryption chip will only be available on the China, while global variants will have just the fingerprint sensors.
Another key feature of the smartphones is both Gionee M6 and M6 Plus smartphones come with massive 5,000 mAh and 6,020 mAh batteries respectively. The Gionee M6 claims to last 794 hours of stand-by time, up to 6.4 hours of video playback and 55 hours of continuous call. It also supports fast charging which company claims that the M6 can fully charge in with in 2 hours.
Both smartphone are paired with 4 GB of RAM and come in 64 GB and 128 GB memory storage options with a microSD card slot for further storage expansion. Both smartphones don’t have a 3.5 mm audio jack.
The Gionee M6 is featured with a 5.5-inch 1080p HD AMOLED display with 100 percent NTSC gamut, and 2.5D curved glass protection and powered by 64-bit 1.8GHz MediaTek MT6755m octa-core processor. The Gionee M6 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, an f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash and an 8-megapixel selfie camera and fingerprint scanner is placed inside the home button in the front. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth, WLAN, USB OTG, and Micro-USB port. The M6 dimensions measure at 152.3 x 75.3 x 8.2 mm and weighs 180 grams. It is a dual-SIM dual standby support smartphonr and runs on Android Marshmallow-based Amigo 3.5 OS.
On other hand, The Gionee M6 Plus is featured with 6-inch 1080p AMOLED display slightly bigger than M6 and it is powered by the same 64-bit MediaTek MT6755m octa-core processor clocked at 2 GHz. The M6 Plus comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera. It measure at 160.5 x 80.6 x 8.2mm and weights 215 grams. The rest of the other specifications are identical to the M6.
The Gionee M6 64 GB storage variant is priced at CNY 2,699 (Approx $405 USD), and CNY 2,899 (Approx $434 USD) for the 128 GB storage variant. The Gione M6 Plus 64 GB variant is priced at CNY 2,999 (Approx $450 USD), and the 128 GB variant is priced at CNY 3,199 (Approx $480 USD).

Both the smartphones will be made available in Champagne Gold and Mocha Gold colour options. The Gionee M6 will be available from 6th, August, while the Gionee M6 Plus will be available from 13th August, in the Chinese market. Unfortunately, as of now there is no information available about when these both smartphones available on global market.
