On Tuesday BlackBerry has announced company’s second Android smartphone the DTEK50. BlackBerry is touting the security features of the DTEK50, claiming that it is the “world’s most secure smartphone.” The DTEK50 smartphone is up for preorder direct from BlackBerry for $299.99 and will be available on 8th, August. It is sold unlocked and will be compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile in the US.

The BlackBerry DTEK50 features a 5.2-inch 1080p display and powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor paired with 3 GB RAM. It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with 6-element f2.0 lens, Phase Detect Auto Focus (PDAF), Dual Tone LED Flash, Enhanced photo colour balance, 4x digital zoom and more with 8-megapixel front camera also includes a flash light, 84˚ wide angle/field of view lens, Image & video stabilisation, Selfie Panorama and more. The smartphone comes with 16 GB memory storage which can be expanded up to 2 TB via microSD card.

BlackBerry DTEK50 is powered by 2,610 mAh battery, Which company claims to offers up to 24 days of standby time, up to 17 hours talk time. The smartphone can be charged 50% charge in 51 minutes with fast battery charging technology.

BlackBerry DTEK50 is equipped with plastic body and measures only 7.4 mm of thickness with 135 g of weight. The smartphone is running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with BlackBerry’s software features like the BlackBerry Hub.
